Kings Cross, London

Yesterday we had a great time visiting the House of Illusration in London. It was inspiring to see the work of practicing artists, the ‘Three Men in a Boat’ exhibition by the Nous Vous Collective linking particularly to my own practice. The work had been produced using a drawing machine, producing illustrations which almost looked pixilated, with a lot of character. I recommend checking them out!

With the Emerge exhibition coming up, it was interesting to see how work was displayed, and how an exhibition was managed professionally. Looking at Jo Brocklehurst’s work, presenting work in a series gave a better sense of what the work was about – when presenting drawings of a dancer a series gave a feeling of movement.

When exploring the place, we came across the cutest book shop which was on a canal boat. Also featured are some sketchbook pages in progress – making use of the gold paint!
